W, consisting of Richard and Robin, dedicate themselves to cathartic self-reflection with the
help of melancholic melodies and lyrics born out of the uncertainty of human existence.
Monotonous drums, soft synthesizers and echoing guitars accompanied by a pathetic voice
are meant to evoke a feeling of loneliness and belonging, because nowhere is life better
than in contradictions.
Born from different musical backgrounds and founded in 2022, Jochen K & Johnny W
pursue the reinterpretation of a melancholic movement that emerged in the 80s and never
quite left the hearts of many people behind the horizon of the mainstream. With their first
single 'Cold & Sober', the duo presents a mix of post-punk beats and guitars paired with
electronic soundscapes, which summarizes the unbearable sobriety of life both musically
and lyrically. The subsequent EP 'Hibernation' builds on the same concept, but attempts to
take different perspectives on the same phenomenon.
